Dawlish Town Council working with lots of organisations and volunteers is putting on four days of events on the Lawn in Dawlish to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.
Listed below are the times of the activities which are subject to change and weather conditions.
A limited edition souvenir programme is being produced with details of events around the parish along with a souvenir postcard - look out for this in late May.
The first day of the celebrations ‘Turn the Tide’ has been organised with the help of Dawlish Against Plastic and ACT Wildlife Wardens.
Shaftesbury Theatre will be selling refreshments in the marquee on the Lawn from 10.30am to 4pm. On the Lawn with be organisations and businesses with information stands.
10.30am Opening ceremony by the Mayor of Dawlish and the Deputy Lt of Devon Group Captain Gordon Evans DL FRAeS WKhM RAF (Ret’d) with Dawlish’s Town Crier - bandstand.
11am Teignmouth and Dawlish Ramblers walk start point from Bandstand
11am to 11.45am Cask - Sea Shanty Duo bandstand
11am to 11.45am Mermaid Hannah Pearl - Children’s author talk and make a seascape banner with Rosie in the marquee.
11am to 3pm The Network Rail team will be on hand with information about the South West Rail Resilience Programme in their information hub on Marine Parade.
11.45am to 12.45pm Children’s Art Workshop – Make a wax resist ocean picture! Use crayons to create an undersea picture then a blue/ green/turquoise water colour wash over. For young children 5 – 11 yrs old. The Strand Centre
12 noon to 12.45pm Wrecked again (band) at the bandstand
12 noon to 12.45pm Alice Henderson- Field Studies Council talk in the marquee
1pm Children’s fun run on the Lawn organised by Dawlish Coasters - register on the day.
1.30pm to 2.30pm Dr Jane Kostelnik (speaker) Wholelife The Strand Centre
2pm Town Crier proclamation at the bandstand
2.15pm to 3.15pm Davey Malone in the marquee

8pm to 9pm Jolly Roger (band) in the marquee
From 9.35pm piper, bugler and beacon lighting on the Lawn with a playing of the Song for the Commonwealth recorded by Dawlish Choral Society on the Lawn.
Look out for the stilt walkers as Pirates during the day!
There will also be films during the day - Smog of the Sea and Life on the Edge at the Shaftesbury Theatre 1pm to 2pm and 4pm to 5pm.

St. Gregory’s Parish Church will be open from Wednesday 1st June to Sat 4th June to celebrate the Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth and also the life of the church over the 70 years with flowers and photographs. Open 10-4 Wed.-Fri; Sat 10-12, 2-4.
